A multivitamin providing folate, iodine and vitamin B12 along with other nutrients is recommended as part of planning for a healthy pregnancy. For advice specific to your situation, speak with your Rainbow Medicine or Health Therapies Clinics practitioner.
Taken as two tablets daily, Pregnancy Care Advanced supplies most key pregnancy nutrients, fully meeting the RDI for iodine, zinc, most B vitamins, vitamin C, biotin, molybdenum, beta-carotene and chromium. Iron and folate are provided within 20% of the RDI and can be topped up through diet. Selenium, magnesium, manganese, choline, vitamin K and vitamin A sit below the RDI but can be obtained from whole foods such as nuts, leafy greens, avocado, meat and dairy. Supporting your vitamin D and omega-3 intake may also be worthwhile depending on your circumstances. For personalised advice, consult your Rainbow Medicine or Health Therapies Clinics practitioner.
Several nutrients in Pregnancy Care Advanced, including folic acid, vitamin B12, choline and iodine, help support healthy brain and nervous-system development in your baby during pregnancy.
Some medications may interact with the iodine, calcium, vitamin D and vitamin K in Pregnancy Care Advanced. It is important to check with your Rainbow Medicine or Health Therapies Clinics practitioner to work out what supplementation suits you.
Pregnancy Care Advanced contains vitamin D sourced from lanolin (from sheep's wool). This means it is not suitable for vegans, although it may be suitable for vegetarians.
Store Pregnancy Care Advanced in a cool, dry place below 30 degrees C, out of direct sunlight and away from moisture. Always check the packaging for the expiry date, and avoid using the product past that date to ensure safety and effectiveness.
