Rainbow Medicine will run a free first-consultation clinic day in the coming month, offering 30-minute introductory consultations at no charge to people who have never previously attended the practice. The aim is to remove cost as a barrier for community members considering allied-health care for the first time.
Slots are limited and bookable in advance. Each session covers a brief history, a discussion of options and a written summary of suggested next steps. The session is exploratory by design — there is no clinical treatment delivered, and patients are under no obligation to return for paid follow-up.
"We recognise that the first appointment can be the hardest one to book," said Dr Christine Shen. "Cost, uncertainty about what happens, and not knowing whether your situation fits — those are real barriers. A free 30-minute consultation removes all three at once."
The day is open to adults 18 and over. Returning patients are not eligible to keep the offer accessible to people new to the practice. People under 18 are welcome but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and may need to be referred to a paediatric service depending on the concern.
To book a free first-consultation slot, complete the form at /en/free-consult or call 0410 699 065. Slots tend to fill within 48 hours of the form going live.
